Solution-Focused Hypnotherapy

Whether you’re striving for personal growth, seeking solutions to challenges, or aiming to enhance your well-being, solution-focused hypnotherapy empowers you with the tools and guidance to achieve your goals. Learn more about how it works, what to expect, and the conditions it can manage below.

What Is Solution-Focused Hypnotherapy?

Rooted in neuroscience, solution-focused hypnotherapy is a combination of psychotherapy and hypnosis. It uses the principle of focusing on solutions rather than problems to help individuals uncover their innate strengths and resources to overcome challenges.

Psychotherapy itself is incredibly beneficial; the type of psychotherapy I practice is called ‘solution-focused’ and is designed to reduce anxiety and calm the mind. Being future-oriented means we focus on solutions rather than dwelling on problems. The effects are then enhanced with the application of hypnosis, which enables the subconscious mind to make beneficial changes.

During solution-focused hypnotherapy sessions, we work collaboratively to define clear and achievable goals, emphasising the positive steps you can take to achieve them.

Solution-focused hypnotherapy helps you reframe thought patterns and behaviours that no longer serve you while fostering the development of new, healthier ones. Unlike other types of therapies, with solution-focused hypnotherapy, you’re not just addressing past problems; you’re rewiring your negative thought patterns for lasting change.

How Does Solution-Focused Hypnotherapy Work?

At your initial consultation, we will discuss what you want to achieve, provide an explanation of how your brain works, and discuss how hypnotherapy can help you. We will also talk about how many sessions you may need.

During our sessions, we engage in open conversations to envision the positive outcomes you want to achieve. By exploring your strengths, resources, and the progress you’ve already made, we amplify your confidence and motivation. The process involves setting achievable objectives that pave the way for meaningful transformation.

Hypnosis, a central aspect of this therapy, is used to guide you into a state of deep relaxation. This relaxed state allows us to communicate directly with your subconscious mind, which is highly receptive to suggestions and change. By accessing this part of your mind, we can work on rewiring negative thought patterns, building new habits, and cultivating a more optimistic mindset.

As powerful as this type of therapy is, unfortunately, I cannot magic away problems, as hypnotherapy is not something that is done to you. Change happens when you are ready and willing to take the actions and steps necessary to allow change to happen, and it is a collaborative effort. Unlike what is portrayed in the media at times, hypnotherapy cannot make you do anything you do not want to do. Anything that is inappropriate for you will simply be rejected by your subconscious.
